We have been having all sorts of fun with spring themed songs and chants in Early Childhood over the last few weeks.  The children have been enjoying the songs, chants and movement activities that spring brings with it.  

Through out the school year the children are introduced to songs and chants in a variety of rhythmic meters.  Below the Nursery 3 is having a great time with the chant, Here Is the Beehive which is in triple meter (6/8 time).  You can see their chant here.

Moving to music allows the children to develop their overall sense of rhythm.  Below the Pre-K enjoys moving to the song Inanay Gupu Wana with a simple choreographed dance.  This song comes from one of the indigenous groups of northern Australia.  You can see the Pre-K's dance moves here.
